| Proposal | I propose long-term BVRI monitoring of NL/VY variable MV Lyr which participates in the Legacy CVs Program and in the Campaign #926 (Monitoring Cataclysmic Variables: Hunting for Low States). The star has been already observed with AAVSOnet some years ago (Proposal #233), now it is observed mainly in the V band. The star has been researched spectroscopically in low state (1981ApJ...245..644S) and photometrically in the high state (1999A&AS..134..263K). However, BVRI monitoring may help to detect color indexes variations during transition from high state to low one and get additional information on accretion rate changes. In the high state MV Lyr is enough bright for BSM telescopes (from 13 B to 12.5 I), but in the low state (when magnitude may drop to 18 V) FSM may be needed by special request. Some seasons of weekly MV Lyr monitoring will be useful as for Legacy CVs Program well as for Campaign #926. |

The TAC has approved this project. The eclipsing binary V449 Lyr is nearby and has a similar brightness. If you could do photometry of it as well as MV Lyr, that would be a valuable addition to this project.
