Proposal

I am monitoring the RR Lyrae star XZ Cygni for a research project on standard candles and cosmic distance mapping. The goal is to verify its 0.466-day period and calculate its distance using the distance modulus formula. This project also provides a time-series dataset to practice ensemble photometry on the AAVSO VPhot platform.
Strategy: I request a Johnson V filter for a duration of 11 nights. To save network queue time, I request a snapshot cadence of 4 to 5 exposures per night. Data will be phase-folded during analysis to map the complete cycle and calculate the mean apparent magnitude.

The TAC is ok with this project as an educational project but questions whether 4-5 data points per night is sufficient. We will leave that up to you can Ken Menzies who schedules the telescopes. Time series on multiple telescopes over a short period might be more useful but that is obviously more of a strain on shared resources.
