| Proposal | My observer code is RTH and I would like to request observations of CP Gru in support of campaign #930. Observations should be in B, V, and R. The PI requests a cadence of all three filters every 30 minutes through the night so that is what I would like. To keep from tying up the telescope, I request every other night instead of nightly. Beginning date: 7/4/2026 Thank you-- Tom (rth) |

Tom:
BTW, I think the campaign can be interpreted in several ways. 'IMHO', the campaign is hoped to be a team effort. Perhaps you could consider requesting less frequent time series such as one filter every 5-7 days for the entire night? We'll see what the TAC thinks?

Since the researchers are trying to estimate the temperatures of the two stars, it would suffice to make measurements at the maxima and the minima. The main issue I see is that there is outside eclipse variability as seen in the TESS data. My experience with systems like these is that the modeling of the asymmetries is troublesome but may the TESS data can help them get a better handle on them.

I am certainly open to your suggestion of one filter every 5-7 days. What ever is doable and works for the campaign will certainly be fine with me.
Thanks.

Committed to bsm_S in R filter. Will run most of night, every 5 days if weather is good. Report how first night runs.

Committed again. See if reduced exposure (7.4s) works.
