| Proposal | The R Coronae Borealis type variable NSV 11664 in Aqulia appears to be rapidly dimming. It is currently (as of 7/14/26) at around magnitude 14.9V, down from its historical maximum of around 13.5 to 14.0. I have been following it for a couple of months but if it dims much further it will start to get beyond the reach of my equipment, so I am hoping a scope in the AAVSOnet might start observing it. There are only a handful of observations of this star during a dimming episode in the AAVSO database so I think getting more data on it would be useful. |

NSV 11664 is continuing to dim, down to 15.426 TG by my observation last night (7/19/26).

I forgot to include filter recommendations; I think certainly V and either I or R would be fine. I don't think a B filter is probably worthwhile since this star is quite red and if it dims much more it will be very faint in B, so B results might not have very good SNR.
