Alert Notice 266: 0939-20 Supernova 1999gh in NGC 2986 AND 1058+45 AN Ursae Majoris to be observed with EUVE satellite

Active Dates: Dec. 3, 1999 – Dec. 3, 1999

Abstract:

This notice reports on the discovery of Supernova 1999gh in NGC 2986 by Kesao Takamizawa and subsequent observations. It also highlights the planned observation of AN Ursae Majoris with the EUVE satellite and requests optical observations from the community.

Justification:

The discovery of a new supernova and the observation of an x-ray magnetic variable in its faint state are significant astronomical events requiring community observation to provide comprehensive data.
