Spectroscopy and photometry campaign on three bright Wolf-Rayet stars

Active Dates: May 15, 2013 – Sept. 17, 2013

Abstract:

This observing campaign focuses on three bright Wolf-Rayet stars in Cygnus: WR 134, WR 135, and WR 137. The primary goal is to collect densely-sampled spectroscopic and photometric data to probe the clumping aspects of stellar winds and large structures within these winds.

Justification:

By studying WR 134, WR 135, and WR 137, we aim to understand the clumping in the strong winds and the changes in large structures in these winds. Spectroscopy will focus on the HeII 5411A and CIII 5696A lines. Filtered UBVRI photometry will provide constraints on wind variability.
