SS Cyg monitoring requested for radio campaign

Active Dates: Feb. 8, 2016 – Feb. 8, 2016

Abstract:

AAVSO is assisting Dr. James Miller-Jones and colleagues in a multiwavelength (radio and optical) campaign on the dwarf nova SS Cyg. Observations are crucial to trigger multi-site radio observations and provide optical coverage for correlation with radio data.

Justification:

The campaign aims to determine whether resolved radio jets exist in SS Cygni during outbursts, using e-MERLIN and AMI-LA radio telescopes. Early detection of the outburst is essential for triggering radio observations.
