Proposal

Good evening,

I am proposing that ASAS J152058-4519.7 be measured due to there being zero observations with the V filter. Noted in Alert Notice 681 ..."Mx. Adrian Lucy and Dr. Jeno Sokoloski (Columbia University) are requesting more AAVSO photometry in support of a continuing search for new symbiotic stars (see Lucy et al. 2019,"

I am requesting the V filter be used for these observations.

My proposal would be to measure every every ten minutes for three hours. This is required to note any flickering of 0.1 mag or greater.
I would like to track this target over the next month every seven days in order to give the best possible data.

The telescopes that would work would be any of the BSM scopes in the Southern Hemisphere... Preferably Australian ones if possible from 2am to 5am.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,

Christopher Colvin

From Arne:

This target is visible for about 2 hours in the morning right now, and will get better in the coming months. At V=13, it is a bit faint for the current BSMs. In addition, it is in a crowded field with a relatively bright companion to the ESE. With the 4.6arcsec pixels of the BSMs, I think the observer will have to measure the target plus some contaminating stars in the measuring aperture. These companions will dilute any flickering. That said, it is probably worth trying a couple of nights to see if decent photometry can be acquired. With the E180's, there would be no problem, but they are unlikely to get to Australia until mid-year.

Committed to OC61 not BSMs. Run as 3 hour time series (BVVVVVBVVVVV...) for three days and requester needs to decide if it meets needs. Then decision will be made on running/frequency.

Looks like this time series plan was run on OC61 on 200127. Images will arrive later today?

Still awaiting images from this run. Looking forward to getting to work on these.

Thank you.

Please terminate this plan.

I was successful in retrieving the data required.

Thank you!
