V CVn is an unusual star. Its highly polarized and the cause is debated. The stars amplitude is currently shrinking, which caused it to be included in Percy’s list of pulsating red giants exhibiting unusual behavior. There is some evidence that the amplitude may be cyclical, but the data is not conclusive. The star is well covered by visual observers, but there is little photometry. The only consistent multi-band photometry occurred for a span from 2003-2007. There is also debate on whether this star is multi-periodic or not and the mean period seems to be increasing. Adding good photometry to the database would help firm this up. I would like to start BVRI photometry at 4 day intervals.
