Proposal #145

AS Cas (RA 00 25 37.82 - Dec +64 13 48.2) is a Cepheid Variable Star that has not been recently observed. The objective is to confirm the periodicity of the star (actually established at 3.02125 days), the difference of magnitude of the star itself (0.74), and to encourage other observers to follow up this star.
Due to the fact that the chart provided by our organization does not have comparison stars, I researched a few in SIMBAD that might be used as comparison stars, which are:

TYC-4023-608-1 Vmag = 11.393 [0.031]
TYC-4023-1060-1 Vmag = 10.042 [0.036]
TUC-4023-818-1 Vmag = 10.632 [0.036]
2MASS J00271228+6414252 Vmag = 14.444 [0.093]
GSC 04023-00919 Vmag = 13.113 [0.045]
This will allow me to make the difference apperture photometry with the Chart X25555TQ (2º FOV).
The cadence suggested for these observations is twice a day (every night 2 observations 5 hours appart from one another) if it is possible for 30 consecutive days. This will help to confirm the periodicity of this star and it's cepheid-like nature. The filter suggested is the V filter: 20 subframes of 60 s each per observation properly calibrated will be required. The frames should be downloaded for further processing in the ftp server.
