Proposal

I found V0919 Cep on the alerts list with no prior observations. To date, I have collected almost 2000 data points in V-band to assess this eclipsing binary system. I have used my own backyard observatory, which has great eastern viewing but very limited western viewing. My visibility and weather is constraining my ability to collect the necessary data for me to finish the project this year.

My initial results have been quite interesting as the secondary eclipses have been deeper than the primary eclipses. I have not found any helpful literature about this system to enable me to determine the parameters for these two stars. As such, I am reaching out to BSM to help me collect multi-color photometry in order to determine effective temperatures and mass ratios. I plan to model this system using Binary Maker 3, which I have purchased already. Ultimately, I want to consider publishing my first paper on this system.

My specific proposal is to capture some out-of-transit baseline observations to correlate the data to my existing observations. Then, I would request a collection of 2 primary and secondary eclipses in each of B,R and I bands.

Dirk,

I have the upcoming transits and can complete a very specific schedule for collections if you need me to make my proposal much more detailed.

The period for the V0919 Cep system is 1.85 days with a duration of 4.44 hours. To the extent possible, I would attempt to simultaneously collect V data for the eclipses as the AAVSONet collects.

Please feel free to contact me if you require more information.

Regards

Chuck

Thanks for the acceptance of my proposal. How do I make the specific collection requests for data?

Chuck:

Leave a specific detailed request on this comment section.

Actually, it may take some direct discussion (email) with me to figure this out.
