Proposal

It has occurred to me, after studying LPV section site
https://sites.google.com/site/aavsolpvsection/aavso-lpv-program/lpv-double-trouble-list,
and having reviewed Dr. Matt Templeton's ideas on the subject,
https://sites.google.com/site/aavsolpvsection/aavso-lpv-program/lpv-double-trouble-list
that Miras with close companions would be a project worthy of AAVSOnet investigation.
The list of targets I am proposing (below) are Miras that are not well characterized and
have ugly or incorrect AAVSO light curves caused by the fact they have close
companions within a few arc minutes of the primary. The goal of this observing project
is to create well characterized, multi-year, AAVSO light curves covering the entire range
of the variable from maximum to minimum over several cycles.
Observations in B, V and I, at least once per week are requested. Exposure times and
the number of exposures to be stacked for maximum SNR will need to be adjusted
periodically based on the current magnitude of each star. The form below wouldn't allow me to put the filter next to the maximum magnitude. All filters for these magnitudes are V, except for the following

UU Lyr p
FG Sge B
VV Gem p

The following targets' maximum magnitude have a less than sign next to them

ST Aur
VV Gem
UU Lyr
LX Cyg

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Ken Mogul (MQE)

Hi Ken,

The review committee is requesting a change to your proposal:

"Maybe asking Ken to narrow the list so that the faintest minima Mira are
avoided would reduce the temporal and organizational footprint of the
project."

If you could modify the list of targets, we'd be happy to move forward on this one.

Dirk
