Proposal

Hello, I am Clément ALLAN student from IPSA (engineering school in FRANCE), I am part of the Anica LEKIC team and I use his account to make the request. We would like to make a proposal to BSM-NM telescopes to observe WASP148 from July 31st to August 1st. According to our research, the transit should be between 2:00 am and 7:00 am We discussed this with George Silvis, David Cowall. We wanted a V photometric filter or red filter observation with an exposure time of 55s as was the case in Hawaii.

Thank you so much!

Comment from Arne:
"If UTC, then sunset is at 0200 and evening twilight is 0246, so they will lose the beginning hour or so of their time interval (the first thing that is done when starting up is an autofocus that takes ~10mins). Plus, they will have the weather uncertainty, which is greater in the evening than later (when the afternoon cumulus can dissipate). Not impossible, but they should be aware of the issues.

It would be best if the proposer can suggest two or more transits to increase the chance of success."

Clement:

Is this transit time interval in UTC or local time?

Check to see if this will work in BSM_NH. Lat~42.5 N Long~ 71.5 W

Hello all, yes the beginning, middle and end time of transit are all in UTC. Last time, our observational window was too short, that is why we asked for more observational time to be sure to obtain the entire transit. Thank you :-)

To be more precise, we participate in an observational campaign for WASP 148 and the people from AFA (French Astronomical Association) asked us to have the longest observational time possible, in order to precise the ingress and egress time. :-)
