Proposal

In support of Alert 758: 11 dwarf novae being observed by HST in 2021-2022. Request 12/14/2021 from Anna F. Pala reads:
"The HST observations of YZ LMi are scheduled for December 30th, 2021. It would be very helpful if you could start observing this target nightly for the next ten days and then, starting from December 23rd, obtain 3-4 points each night to ensure that this star is safe to be observed by HST."
Request use of FSM. I used T21 (43 cm) and measured 18.3 mag(300 sec exposures(2)) currently but with inadequate S/N. For 61 cm aperture this will require several stacked images (300 sec exposure minimum) to get above the requested S/N of 20. Since the goal is to make sure the target is not going into outburst, I would estimate 4-6 images with 300 sec exposure would be sufficient. I'm assuming using the FSM telescope with 61 cm aperture.

The TAC approved this proposal and #244 to run on different telescopes.

Latest update regarding YZ LMI: Further to AAVSO Alert Notice 758, Dr. Anna Francesca Pala (European Space Agency, ESAC, Spain) informs us that the SU UMa-type dwarf nova YZ LMi will be observed by the Hubble Space Telescope on December 30, 2021.

Coverage is requested to begin immediately and continue through January 20, 2022. Please observe YZ LMi a few times per night through December 30, then nightly until January 21. As with all targets for HST, it will be crucial to have a positive V measurement 24 hours before the scheduled HST time so the HST team can make a go-nogo decision.

Committed to TMO61.

Thanks Ken,

Once the scipt is running on TM061, will the image files show up in my vphot account like BSM, or do I need to fetch them from an FTP site. If the latter, can you give me the link/login info?

Latest update regarding YZ LMi , Alert Notice 758:

The HST observations of YZ LMi will be executed on Thursday 30th at 11:11 UT.
Tonight's observations will be the most crucial to assess the quiescent state of the target and ensure the safety of the HST detectors.

It would be great if you could try to obtain two or three positive measurements tonight in V or CV. These will be used by the HST team to give the final approval for the observations.

Thanks you so much for all your hard work and support for this program!

All the best,
Anna

Brian:

All AAVSONet scope images end up in VPhot, if requested (as you did).

Getting images from TMO61 depends on weather and operator effort. You will either get some or not!

So far, this has not been successful. ;-(

Ken, Dirk,

Wanted to let you know that I received some images(2) of GP Com in my vphot account this morning. I'm guessing these images are from the next proposal #248, submitted by Richard Brown. I went ahead and shared those images with him since Anna has requested images of GP Com. I've ask him if he wants to work together on GP Com photometry this month. If he does, then I will continue to share any GP Com images with him. I've never received any images of YZ LMi and we missed the need date for that one. I'd be interested to know if the difficulty in getting the images of YZ LMi were weather or technical related (or both).

Thanks
Brian

Brian:

Corrected plan #248. Richard will correctly receive future images and you will not.

No YZ LMi images collected by TMO61 for both reasons.

GP Com HST date has moved up to Jan 18, 2022. I've been covering GP COM using itelescope T21. Noticed that Richard Brown (BRIB) has not been uploading photometry from TM061. If you want to start sending me images of GP COM again, I will do the photometry, I tried contacting RIchard Brown via email, but no reply.
