Proposal

I have been following V1159 Ori since 2021 October using SLOOH Chile 2 telescope with all data presented to the AAVSO DB. Complementing this, I have analysed the available AAVSO DB (with some other sources) to look at the timing of superoutbursts since 1995. The supercycle period has definitely increased since Kato did the first such analysis. The current supercycle period is about 58 days compared to 45 days 20 years ago and apparently still increasing. This analysis willl appear in the BAA VSS circular ( editor approving of course) .

I propose that V1159 Ori is followed by both BSM Berry and BSM NM (or another North American site) using the V filter in order to improve the detection of the start of each outburst making use of their difference in longtitude. The more accurate data coming from two sites should reduce timing uncertainty.

What observing frequency are you proposing, nightly?

Nightly yes

Thankyou. I think this will be productive use of the systems.

Committed to Berry and NM

Guys,
I see that BSM S4 has been added to the project. We are getting a nicely populated LC now.
Many thanks
