Dear Sir / Madam ,
I am an AAVSO member since 2018 and an AAVSO AMBASSADOR from India.
I have been very much interested to have the CCD images of SS Leo and RR Leo for the AMBASSADOR program for the year 2023 with my school's students.
I came to know that there are 8273 observations of SS Leo and 24929 observations of RR Leo data sets in the AID database.
So it would be a great opportunity to observe these stars using the AAVSOnet observing facility.

I would like to find out the photometric measurement of these CCD
images using the VPhot package of AAVSO and upload that photometric measurements of the
above RRAB-type variables to AID.

After that I would like to study the present time of maximum light
of these stars using Vstar involving my school's students under AMBASSADOR program.

For this study I would like to get ccd images using AAVSOnet section till 2023-03-31.

Hope you will guide me in this regard.
With regards,
Pradip Karmakar

Here I have got the following information of the targets from VSX.

1) SS Leo
-------------------
Variability type: RRAB
VSX: 11 33 54.49 -00 02 00.0 (173.47704 -0.03333)

Period: 0.6263351 d (15.03204 h)
Spectral type: A7-F6
V Mag. Range: 10.420 - 11.584 V

2) RR Leo
----------------
Variability type: RRAB
VSX: 10 07 43.46 +23 59 30.3 (151.93108 +23.99175)

Period: 0.4524021 d (10.85765 h)
Spectral type: A7-F5
V Mag. Range: 9.92 - 11.25 V

CCD observations: Yes, I would like to avail CCD coverage.
DSLR observations: No. I would not like to avail DSLR coberage with BGR filters.
Visual observations: No. I would not like to avail visual observation coberage.
Filters: I would like to avail CCD observations using Johnson V and B (if possible).

Comparison and Check stars: I would like to get help about the
sequence for this target from the Sequence Team.

Submitting observations: I would like to get the images ( bias and
dark corrected and flat filded) in my VPhot account, so that I can do
the photometry of those images (.fits OR .fit format) using VPhot. I
am very much eager to use Vphot for the photometric measurement.

Pradip:

Have you thought about using available AID data to have your students measure a recent time of maximum (TOM)? VStar is a useful tool for the students to learn how to do this.

Imaging a future TOM can be conducted most efficiently IF you calculate a recent TOM in VStar and use the known period to predict a future TOM. Then we could run one short time (e.g., 2-3 hours) series on BSM_NM and virtually guarantee that you get the desired result. Does this make sense?

Simply taking a single image on several nights over the next month will not be useful for you and your students to learn anything. Comments?

Dear Sir,
I would like to get some spectrum of SS leo in the month of December 2024.

You will need to submit a new proposal for that.
