Proposal

Hi,

My name is Jamey Jenkins, observer code is JENJ.This is my first request for time on the AAVSOnet to obtain photometric data on several under observed LPVs and one Young Stellar Object (YSO). Following is my requested filter(s) and cadence for each. Three images per observation for stacking to improve SNR is preferred. Please upload calibrated images to my VPhot account. Any questions I can be contacted at jameyljenkins@gmail.com.

V0373 Cep V 1 observation daily
W Per VBR 1 observation weekly
U Her VBR 1 observation weekly
R Cyg VBR 1 observation weekly
BG Cyg VBR 1 observation weekly

The TAC suggests using multiple filters for V373 Cep as well.

My past observations of V373 Cep were V-only, and I didn't want to use more telescope time than necessary. If VBR is no problem then most certainly add those filters to the schedule. I would appreciate observations to begin when each star reaches a suitable (30+ degrees) in elevation this season and continue until they are unobservable later in the year. Thanks!!

Adding filters has a relatively minor impact on the observing time that is more than offset by the additional astrophysical information.

Sounds good...please let me know when we move to the next step in the proposal process.

Committed to NH. Pairs of exposures (long and short) for LPVs with large amplitude. Select exposure appropriate for photometry at different phase.

(19565) Jamey Jenkins — April 10, 2023, 8:45 p.m.

from email to BSM_NH2 : Summary of exposures is following
BG Cyg V-ok at 90s x 2, B-ok at 180s x 2, R-ok at 15s x 2
U Her V-change to 30s x 2 (90s is saturated), B-ok at 180s x 2, R-change to 5s x 6 (stacking 6 images for scintillation)

Ken Menzies, could you send me a note to my email? I have a question regarding transforming of AAVSOnet images... jameyljenkins@gmail.com

(19565) Jamey Jenkins — April 11, 2023, 1:21 a.m.

from email to BSM_NH2 : Summary of exposures is following

R Cyg V-ok at 90s x 2, B-ok at 180s x 2, R-ok at 15s x 2

I have begun receiving images for V373 Cep again in B V R, which is okay if that star could remain on the NH_BSM schedule, the exposures are fine also.

The remainder of the requests (BG Cyg, R Cyg, U Her, W Per) I have been able to or will be able to obtain myself at this time. They may removed from my request.

Thanks for your hard work!!
Jamey Jenkins (JENJ)
