Proposal

Name: Kushal Sahare
Obscode: SKUB

This is my first proposal for my observational project for my university course at Swinburne Online Astronomy.
Use of this: University project in Astronomy observational course. The aim is variable star monitoring.

Variables

1. Zet Gem (Classical Cepheid)
Observing cadence: 1.0 d
Period: 10.149806
Band: V

2. RR Lyr (RR Lyrae variable)
Observing Cadence: 2.0 d
Period: 0.5 d
Band: V

3. Gamma Bootes (Delta Scuti variable)
Period: 6.96 h
Band: V

Exposure Times: Site Owner's Best Guess as I have little experience with this.

I will need, raw and calibration files for error analysis for my project.

Note:

RR Lyrae magnitude is 8.12-7.06

After discussion with the TAC, Kushal suggested replacing Zeta Gem with TT Aql. And due to the very low amplitude of Gamma Boo, he would like to do AE UMa instead.

Thanks Dirk and TAC for accepting my proposal and amendments to my proposal.

Kushal:
Add the new targets above. Remove the targets above as appropriate.

(4726) Kenneth Menzies — April 14, 2023, 9:38 p.m.

What is your time frame for imaging? End of project?

I am not sure how to edit the proposal. After reading the forum, I got to know that comments are the best way to update the proposal. So please find my updated proposal as below:

Variables

1. TT Aql (Classical Cepheid)
RA: 18.072497
Dec: -29.519139
Observing cadence: 1.0 d
Period: 13.7546
Band: B, V

2. RR Lyr (RR Lyrae variable)
Observing Cadence: 2.0 d
Period: 0.5 d
Band: B, V

3. AE UMa (Delta Scuti variable)

RA: 9.6147653
Dec: 44.0667778
Period: 0.086017055 days (~ 2.06 h)
Band: B, V
Observation cadence: Since this has a very short period, it can be a time series (if possible). I would need about 4-5 periods, to do Fourier analysis etc.

Exposure Times: Site Owner's Best guess as I have little experience with this.
I will need, raw and calibration files for error analysis for my project.

End of this project is May (end).

(4726) Kenneth Menzies — April 15, 2023, 3:37 p.m.

Do you see the 'add another' button? Is it still there on your screen. Enter new targets just as you did for the first three.

(4726) Kenneth Menzies — April 19, 2023, 5:18 p.m.

Committed to NH

(2108) Arne Henden — April 28, 2023, 10:37 a.m.

Ken, turn off AE UMa. There have been several nights of time series, which should be enough for now (until Kushai tells us otherwise). Thanks!
