Proposal | I have just finished the CCD photometry course. I would like to start gathering data on a LPV through it's entire period while I gather the rest of equipment for photometry with my telescope. This will help me practice the newly learned skills on a target similar to what I observe later. RU Vul has a period of 107 days. Please collect BVRI data on 10 day cadence over next 107 days. |
Target | RA (H.HH) | Dec (D.DD) | Magnitude | Telescope | Observation Frequency | Expiration Date | Proprietary Term |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
RU Vulpecula | 20.647778 | -23.25861 | 8.0–11.0 | BSM_TX | 2 | Nov. 15, 2023 | No |

The TAC suggests a 3-day cadence.

3 day cadence works for me.

RU Vul is NOT at DEC = -23 as you indicated above!!
RRIA already observes this target on several BSMs. Do you have an alternative?- (46059) Terrence Dixon — May 18, 2023, 5:37 p.m.
I will provide alternate. Thanks!

How about V725 Sgr? It appears to need some observation and a shorter period.
RA 272.9958
Dec -36.1111- (4726) Kenneth Menzies — May 19, 2023, 2:22 p.m.
See if you can 'add' this target above, with normal info.
- (4726) Kenneth Menzies — May 19, 2023, 2:41 p.m.
I committed this target to BSM_S for you.
It is also observed by RRIA on BSM_Berry so you will have a comparison. BTW, see if you can look in the Distribution tab above and find the new target listed.- (46059) Terrence Dixon — May 19, 2023, 2:56 p.m.
I don't see a way to edit the above proposal. I don't see target in distribution. V6595_Sgr is highest number in Sgr. Then again this is my first time doing this so please excuse my ignorance if its there and I'm not seeing it.

I typed V725_Sgr and see your new proposal listed. Try again? I don't think it is a permission issue.

Concerning editing proposal, in the Target line above, do you see a 'Remove' button on right end of the existing proposal line? Do you see an 'Add another' button just below the RU Vul line?

Yes, finally saw the target listed. I still don't see the "remove" or "add" button. They were there when I initially did the proposal but don't see them now, tried firefox and edge. And, I put the RA in degrees instead of hours, again! should be 18.19972. Thanks.

Make sure you are logged into the AAVSO site first and then you will probably see the buttons. (At least that's what works for me.)

I'm definitely logged in. Played with page size, maybe it was expanded off the page but not so.

I tried it on a different computer and still no buttons. Please advise.

Should I submit new proposal?
