Proposal

During the next 4 months FQ Cas is dimming to magnitude 20 in Blue. I would like to modify, renew, and extend proposal 291 for the next 120 days or until Jan 1, 2024. Proposal 291 was conducted on an RCOS-610 sized telescope.

LPV FQ Cas has incomplete data on the faint part of its cycle. I am unable to measure it below about magnitude 17.5 with my 12" SCT at 204 meters ASL. During the next four months FQ Cas will be Magnitude 9.5 to 11.3 in I band, magnitude 14.5 to 18 in V band and magnitude 17 to 20 in B band. Suggest 7-10 images of 180 to 240 seconds in B band. Suggest seven images of 200 seconds in V.

The previous run, which ended Feb 4, 2023 had a request to take data every two days. The result was very sparse (<10 nights in 90 days) data due mostly to poor weather. To try to get more regular data I request observations nightly. Requesting V, B and I band measurements every available observing night. FOV should be about 10 to 20 minutes. I offset my declination a bit from 59 13 55.1 to 59 13 15.1 to avoid a nearby bright star.

Photometry goes into the AAVSO database.

Just updated Plan 291 on mpo61 with new info.

Thanks for the data
I cannot process the SI filter data, no comps in the FOV.
Skip SI. Add I filter if available.

FQ Cas is now brightening. Please discontinue Proposal #399. I was able to use the SI data by using APASS SI for regular comps stars. Thanks for the data!
