Proposal

We have observed this target from Italy and published a paper on arxiv with first data.( https://arxiv.org/abs/2307.05612)
As this target is no longer visible from Italy, and We would like to continue acquiring images in photometric filters B.V.R.I and if is possible, spectra too. We would be pleased if this proposal will be accepted. Thank you Nello Ruocco

Why is it is no longer visible from Italy? Too faint for your scope? Below horizon?

(16503) Nello Ruocco — Sept. 7, 2023, 2:32 p.m.

too low on the horizon and in any case also weak for filters in B and I. Thanks

So how do you propose that we observe it?

(16503) Nello Ruocco — Sept. 8, 2023, 5:52 p.m.

Yes. Il possibile. Which telescopi you have?

(4726) Kenneth Menzies — Sept. 9, 2023, 1:59 a.m.

The aavsonet web page describes the telescopes available. The BSM scopes are generally 0.18m and the FSM scopes are 0.61m. Take a look.

My basic question relates to how high the target is above the horizon in the early evening sky. If it is below 30 deg, it will not typically be imaged.

What is the current magnitude during its fade?

Ken

Hi Ken
In B about 16
In V 14.5
In R 13.5

Here for the altitude we have only an hour but for us filter B is not possibile use for low magnitude. Nello
