There is some concern among the TAC members about how the selection was done. It sounds like there is some discussion about using the BSM systems and choosing targets that have comp stars in the BSM fields here:
https://www.aavso.org/snews-campaign-forum
Please let us know how these targets were selected and whether they have comps in the BSM field (and having an offset to reach comp stars is fine as long as everything fits).

The targets were selected by looking at the target list spreadsheet, eliminating those with maximum magnitudes 6.0 or brighter, and looking for ones that looked interesting based on what I understood from the data present in the spreadsheet, that would be circumpolar for NH or the Australia scopes. Now that I am aware of the need to check for comparison stars, I'm checking them all out for that. TZ Cas, AZ Cas, AS Cep, WX Cas, and AG Cam all list chart FOVs that are within the FOV of the typical BSM scope field listed on that forum topic, so not checking them. Plotting new versions of the charts with a FOV of 90 arcminutes and removing the binocular special chart type (I don't know if that will affect the BSM results) gives the following results:
V0641 Cas shows 4 comp stars within the field, and several others right at the southern edge of the chart that I ignored.
V0538 Car has 5 comp stars, of which 3 should be in the field no matter the orientation.
HD 101569 has 4 close by, with two more closer to the western edge and two more closer to the northern edge.
V0419 Cep has 0 comp stars in the field (and only 4 others total, none comp), so that needs to be removed or replaced (this one did not have the binocular type selected in the chart linked from the spreadsheet).
NSV 319 has 2 comp stars, one almost to the eastern edge of the chart and the other near the southern edge. I suspect this will also need to be removed or replaced. If we replace the two with 1 or 0 comp stars that would fit within a field, I'd search for something from the southern hemisphere for both to better spread them out.
Since there are two that are not viable candidates, how do we want to proceed? Also, if we go the route of a new proposal, would we want to replace circumpolar with circumpolar, or should I find a completely new set of targets that spread over more of the sky and could get the BSM scopes that are closer to the equator involved to better load balance the network?

It might be best to look https://www.aavso.org/snews-campaign-forum and coordinate with other observers on targets. Note the spreadsheet linked down the page a bit.

Yes, I am on one coordinating campaign (I was the first to choose targets). I don't know if there are other coordinating efforts. The one I'm in is at https://www.aavso.org/aavsonet-support-alert-notice-836-and-snews

Waiting for coordination among SNEWS team before committal to scope.

OK, I've replaced V0419 Cep and NSV 319 with HD 305632 and RT Car, and updated the coordinating spreadsheet accordingly. They have listed charts with fields of view of 80 and 60 arcminutes, respectively.
