BVRI monitoring of HD 5501

The spectroscopy discussion group is participating in a campaign for Richard Gray on the eclipsing binary HD 5501. It has some very peculiar spectroscopic attributes, and to flux-calibrate the spectra, as well as correlating broad-band changes with spectral line changes, BVRI monitoring is being done by a subset of the group. There is some discussion as to which comparison star(s) are appropriate for this blue target, and so I'm in the process of monitoring a half-dozen of the available comp stars to look for small variability.

I started this project as a background target on BSM_NH2, but I'd like to formalize the project. Send images to VPHOT.

Arne: Can you send me the details of the current plan on NH2?

(2108) Arne Henden — Oct. 28, 2023, 11:31 a.m.

Currently
B 3x30sec
V 3x10sec
R 3x10sec
I 3x15sec
airmass limit of 1.8

Let me know when you've created the plan, and I'll disable the one currently running.
Thanks, Ken!

Sorry...
B 3x20sec
V 3x10sec
R 3x10sec
I 3x15sec

Plan ready to be committed to NH. Advise when previous plan is deleted.

Hi Ken - please archive this proposal. WEY is monitoring this target in any case, so no need to duplicate effort. Thanks!
