Proposal

I've detected a possible outburst of GAIA 2055947866179206272 on two separate occasions using DSLR patrol images. SkySafari Pro lists this star at 14.53 v, and it appears to be approximately 10.0 on both images taken 11 days apart, June 5 and 16, 2024. The object has not moved. VSX has several faint variables in the field, none of which approach a max of 10.0.

This is all new to me, but I would appreciate having nightly imaging for 30 days using B and V filters. Low resolution spectra would also be appreciated, although I have never worked with spectra (or Vphot, for that matter.)

I will be working to obtain additional photometry on my own when weather permits. I will be posting this to the transient forum as well. Images are available if needed.

Thanks for your consideration
John Pickett

This proposal should be rejected, we already found out it was a catalog ID confusion not an outburst.
