Proposal | Monitoring Bernhard-2 (000-BPW-984) for Prof. Catrina Hamilton-Drager (Dickinson College) ps I also just submitted a proposal to continue monitoring KH 15D; I might have put in wrong minimum and maximum magnitudes: these should read 15.4 - 21.5V (but we expect the occultation to less deep (min. around 17.0). |

I just analyzes the first images of Bernhard-2. The SNR (of the stacked images) is:
clear 75
SI 42
SZ 14
At this moment the star should still be in it's maximum (17.0 r); the occultation (minimum 19.1 r) should start October 25th. Is it possible to make longer exposures and/or have more images/filter/night to increase the SNR?
Many thanks in advance

180 sec in SZ still only gives a SNR of 10-15. To avoid wasting telescope time, I suggest to change the SZ filter for SR. In combination with the SI filter we'll still have some color information. Many thanks in advance!
