Proposal | I would like to get enough data for HDE226868 (Cygnus X1) to complete a full phase light curve. Because of the close proximity of HDE226868 it is tidally distorted into an ellipsoidal shape giving a change in brightness of approximately 0.20 magnitudes over the course of 5.6 days. The star has a maximum brightness of 8.7. Over the next 2 months I would like 20 - 30 one minute images of HDE 226868 each day (or as often as possible) using V and B filters and one minute exposures. |

The TAC approves this but note that it is getting late in the observing season for Cygnus.
