Proposal

Good morning, I'm Sauro Gaudenzi, my observer code is GSAD, I kindly ask for the use of a telescope to observe HM Sge, one observation per week until February 2027 is sufficient (if the duration of the observation is too long it can be reduced), one hour of observation per week of which 30 minutes with R filter and 30 minutes with I filter. Dr. Steve Goldman (Space Telescope Science Institute) writes: "We are requesting I-band and R-band photometry of HM Sge. The I-band helps us probe the pulsation of the red giant, while the R-band allows us to monitor the general brightness of the system. The I-band is particularly important."
Justification:

"The light curve of the Symbiotic Mira HM Sge has been changing in unexpected ways. We have published several journal articles (including AAVSO authors) using data from Hubble, SOFIA, and AAVSO, including data obtained in response to AAVSO Alert Notice 734 (2021). We are trying to understand the evolution and variability of this system after its recent outburst (1975). New observations will be important for providing a baseline for new Hubble observations as well as helping us understand the system's evolution."

I add that I forgot to specify that this request of mine is in support and following the AAVSO alert nr: 881

The TAC approves this proposal but has a question about the observing. The originator of the project says observations once a week are sufficient but you are asking for 30 minutes in each filter. Why do you need that instead of one observation in each filter?

Ok it's okay to make an observation for each filter, if you have any other questions please ask

I would add that 30 minutes with filter I were used to probe the pulsation of the red giant, while 30 minutes with filter R were used to monitor the general brightness of the system, but it is fine to make an observation for each filter
