Proposal

EE Cep (AAVSO UID 000-BCQ-039) is an E-DO type disk occultation system and is approaching its eclipse, which occurs every 5.61 years and lasts approximately 8 weeks. I would like to observe it once per night in at least B, V, R, and I filters. The AID contains only a few observations in ugriz filters, so if time allows, these would also be of interest.

The campaign should begin soon to establish a baseline before the ingress to the eclipse and continue through the middle of January to obtain the baseline following the egress.

I have recently completed the CCD Photometry (2025) CHOICE course led by Ed Wiley and am currently in the Observational Best Practices (2025) course led by Arne. I will report my results through the AAVSO.

I will be observing this system using my own remote telescope near Rockwood, Texas, but because of its position, I will have limited sky time as it goes through the eclipse, and would like to augment my observations with the AAVSONet observatories.

Thank you and clear skies,

John Phillips

Thanks Dirk, I searched for it but didn't find the previous proposal.
