Proposal | Hello all, A British colleague of mine and I are currently studying the HADS star DY Her. It turns out that it is by all means interesting and worthwhile observing from several sites. Up to the present time, we have been conducting photometry from our remote telescope, located in Rockwood, TX. But unfortunately, as you well know, observing this type of star from one site only is not recommended. What makes this particular star interesting is the fact that there is a hypothesis that it might be part of a binary system, and also our latest observations point out that the star has reduced its fundamental by about 24 minutes when comparing our data with data gathered from 1981 to 2000. Additionally, we are estimating that its spectral classes at maximum and minimum range from F0III (but more likely A7III) to F8III. However, this star is getting ready to "set up" in the following weeks. Nevertheless, we want to conduct, for the time remaining this year, some observations with AAVSOnet (NH, NM, and, if possible, Hamren) before it goes below 30ยบ above the horizon, and continue when the star arises above this level. The observations we need are in B, V, R, I filters, but mainly in Johnson B and V, with a cadence of daily observations, a set per observatory. The SNR we are looking for is above 100 or very close to it. The data will be transformed and submitted to AID via VPhot. We look forward for your prompt answer. Cheers! Enrique Boeneker |
