Proposal

Hello Arne cc Ken

I have been asked to collaborate on a variable star project involving long-term (3-4 weeks) photometric monitoring of a pulsating white dwarf star that has an accretion disk. It will be observed by other ground-based telescopes, and, critically, the JWST during mid-November. This is a project I am very keen to be involved in, as it would be a great student project analysing the dataset of this very interesting object.

As this would require continuous monitoring of a single star, the OC telescope would be ideal to use for this project, so I was hoping I could ask you to schedule the OC telescope for me solely for this project during November (1-30 Nov, especially 4-25 Nov, critically during 12-16 Nov)?

Observations are required of a G=13.1 magnitude white dwarf (ZZ Ceti) star in a single filter (eg sloan g) with a ~40 second cadence for the whole night and for the observing time period as above (1-30 Nov, especially 4-25 Nov, critically during 12-16 Nov).

Can you let me know if this is possible for you to schedule this on the OC for me please during November??

Thanks, Karen Pollard
