| Proposal | Nova M31 2025-10a = AT 2025abao is likely a luminous red nova in M31 (ATel #17468 https://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=17468 ), such stars are rare and their photometry is important for science, so photometry is required with V, B, Rc, Ic and Sloan g', r', i', z' filters. While it's still around 15 mag, is necessary daily with exposures 300 seconds (or 2x300 sec.) for each filter, when it gets fainter, then we'll need to discuss several filters with shutter speeds, for example, 3x300 sec. I think these telescopes would be suitable: FSM-SRO50 (B,V,Rc,Ic), FSM-TMO61 (SG,SR,SI,SZ, B,V,R), but it seems they have been inactive for a long time. It seems that the only active telescope now is FSM-MPO61- we can try 300 seconds with B, V, Rc, SG, SR, SI and SZ filters and check what the SNR will be. Probably for B it will be necessary 2x300 sec. already now. With best regards, Filipp. |

Maybe 3x180 sec shutter speeds will be good, but for B it is definitely better to increase the shutter speed.- (34732) Filipp Romanov — Nov. 14, 2025, 10:17 p.m.
Thank you for approving my AAVSOnet proposal #661! It has started to fade in B band.

It sure does NOT need both Johnson Cousins AND Sloan filters!

committed to mpo61 in BVR.

Dear Kenneth, thank you for allocation. But I asked Dr. Andrea Reguitti which collects observations of this object, and there are needed data in Johnson B, V and Sloan griz filters. Rc data can be easily converted to r' using formula Rc=r'-0.22 from Dymock & Miles, 2009, but it would be better to use a real Sloan filter instead of the Rc, but still, the data in the SG, SR, SI and SZ filters are very necessary for research, for example, look at the paper https://arxiv.org/pdf/2011.10588

included images in BV and Sloan filters.
