Abstract

(Abstract only) The basic principles and techniques of spectrophotometry using CCD detectors are described. Topics discussed include the principle of spectrophotometry, the basic design of astronomical CCD spectrographs, the characterization and performance of CCD detectors used for spectroscopy, and a summary of the basic observing and reduction procedures. Several examples are presented to illustrate the use of CCD spectrographs and small-aperture telescopes.
