Abstract

(Abstrct only) The author describes a project currently under development that allows students in high school classrooms to dial up the University of California at Berkeley Astronomy Department's remote 30-inch Leuschner Telescope to acquire images of stars, galaxies, and planets. Presently under development is the establishment of a network of about 40 teachers. This network development includes training them, helping them attain computers, developing curriculum units for students, and attempting to allow them to do real research.
