Abstract

Various candidate spectral sensitivity functions are compared with photoelectric V, and the dependence of spectral sensitivity on viewing conditions and eye usage is reviewed. These functions are useful for understansing visual and photoelectric magnitude estimates, and in attempting to transform these to standard systems. Several recommendations are made.
