2012: a Goldmine of Novae (Abstract)

Abstract

(Abstract only) So far in 2012, sixteen objects have been at least initially classified as galactic novae. This total includes five confirmed novae in Sagittarius alone! This paper will discuss the observations for these objects that have been submitted to the AAVSO, with some thoughts about the future of nova discoveries and the role of amateurs.
