Abstract

(Abstract only) While modern telescopes and instruments (see right column) generates much more astrophysical data, the Wolf Index (1848) provides a very long term measure of Solar activity through the Sunspot count. Interns from the USNO have, since at least 2005, contributed to the mean Wolf Index calculated by the American Association of Variable Star Observers.
