Abstract

We examine data from three Sectors of observations from NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) for the δ Scuti star σ Octantis = HD 177482. We were unable to conclude that it is a hybrid δ Sct/γ Dor variable as reported in earlier literature because the evidence for the presence of active γ Dor frequencies was absent from one Sector's data and only weakly statistically significant in the other two. We report that several of the δ Sct frequencies showed statistically significant amplitude modulation between the three TESS Sectors.
