Alert Notice 157: 1700-43 Probable Nova in Scorpius AND 2027+52 Nova Cygni 1992 AND Data support for satellite observations of cataclysmic variables

Active Dates: May 28, 1992 – Jan. 31, 1993

Abstract:

This campaign includes the discovery of a probable nova in Scorpius by Paul Camilleri, monitoring of Nova Cygni 1992, and data support for satellite observations of cataclysmic variables including U Gem, VW Hyi, IP Peg, YY Dra, TT Crt, and T Pyx.

Justification:

Astronomers scheduled to observe the cataclysmic variables with the Hubble Space Telescope and the International Ultraviolet Explorer requested assistance in closely monitoring these stars and informing them of their behavior to observe them at the appropriate times.
