Active Dates: July 27, 1996 – Nov. 30, 1996

Abstract:

Observing campaign for supernova 1996an in NGC 1084 and WX Hydri with Hubble Space Telescope. SN 1084 is a type-II supernova approximately two months after its explosion. WX Hydri, a SU UMa-type cataclysmic variable, is to be observed with Hubble Space Telescope in August, September, and November.

Justification:

Monitor SN 1084 and report observations to AAVSO Headquarters. Monitor WX Hyi closely to inform astronomers for Hubble observations.
