Minor Outburst and Monitoring Requests of Variable Stars GK Persei, AN Ursae Majoris, and QR Andromedae

Abstract:

This campaign involves the monitoring of several variable stars: a minor outburst of GK Persei, and ongoing monitoring of AN Ursae Majoris and QR Andromedae for variability studies.

Justification:

For GK Persei, monitoring is requested due to its recent minor outburst. For AN Ursae Majoris, monitoring is requested by astronomers at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer (EUVE) satellite observations when the system is in a bright state. For QR Andromedae, long-term monitoring is requested by astronomers at Ondrejov Observatory to understand its variability as a soft x-ray source.
