Possible new variable in Hercules - 1835+25 Var Her 04 [V1108 Her] AND Update on request for monitoring of 0409-71 VW Hyi

Active Dates: June 22, 2004 – Aug. 31, 2004

Abstract:

Discovery and monitoring of a potential new variable star (1835+25 Var Her 04) discovered by Yuji Nakamura in the Hercules constellation and a monitoring update on 0409-71 VW Hyi.

Justification:

The nature of 1835+25 Var Her 04 is not yet known. Spectroscopy and photometry observations are needed to determine if it's a cataclysmic variable or nova. The monitoring of VW Hyi is crucial for FUSE observations to avoid satellite damage during a superoutburst.
