1706-30 Nova Scorpii 2004

Active Dates: July 3, 2004 – July 6, 2004

Abstract:

Nova Scorpii 2004 (ASAS 171251-3056.6) was discovered by Grzegorz Pojmanski in ASAS-3 data with a discovery magnitude of 11.983 V.

Justification:

If this is a slow nova, it may take several weeks to brighten to maximum, with fluctuations in brightness along the way. Visual and CCD observers (and PEP observers if it brightens into range), are encouraged to observe it every clear night.
