Active Dates: Aug. 23, 2005 – Aug. 23, 2005
Abstract:
A new variable star designated 1955+22C VAR VUL 05 was discovered near M27. The discovery was independently made by Joerg Hanisch from Germany and Hans-Goeran Lindberg from Sweden. The discovery magnitudes were reported as 15.8 CCD clear by Hanisch and 15.27 C by Lindberg. The object was positioned at R.A. = 19h 59m 51.29s and Decl. = +22o 42' 32.3" based on Hanisch's measurements.
Justification:
Observers, especially those using CCD, are urged to look for superhumps and possible WZ Sge-signature behavior to help confirm the nature of this star.
