Request to monitor 2035-01 AE Aqr for multiwavelength campaign AND Reminder to monitor HT Cas, Z Cha, and OY Car

Active Dates: Aug. 28, 2005 – Sept. 2, 2005

Abstract:

Dr. Christopher Mauche has requested assistance in monitoring the novalike intermediate polar AE Aquarii to support multiwavelength observations from August 28/29 through September 1/2. Observations in the gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, and radio regions will be covered by various satellites and ground-based observations. CCD observations are particularly encouraged. Additionally, reminders are issued to monitor HT Cas, Z Cha, and OY Car closely.

Justification:

Monitoring is critical to correlate multiwavelength observations of AE Aqr, especially during gamma-ray observations for flaring events. Prompt notifications for outbursts in HT Cas, Z Cha, and OY Car are essential to trigger the ESA XMM-Newton satellite.
