Nova in Puppis [Nova Pup 2007 = V597 Pup]
Active Dates: Nov. 14, 2007 – Nov. 14, 2007
Abstract:
Discovered by Alfredo Jose Serra Pereira, Nova in Puppis (Nova Pup 2007 = V597 Pup) was first observed on November 14, 2007. The nova's initial magnitude was approximately 7.0 (visual estimate). Later measurements provided slightly different coordinates and magnitudes.
Justification:
Understanding the characteristics and evolution of nova outbursts.
