Alert Notice 376: Request to monitor SDSS J151413.72+454911.9 for HST Observations [PP Boo]

Active Dates: April 23, 2008 – May 10, 2008

Abstract:

Dr. Paula Szkody (University of Washington) and collaborators have requested our help in monitoring the cataclysmic variable SDSS151445 (SDSS J151413.72+454911.9) [PP Boo] for upcoming Hubble Space Telescope observations.

Justification:

AAVSO observations are requested to ensure that the object remains in quiescence when observed with HST, as it could damage the instrument if it were to go into outburst. AAVSO observations will be used to make a "go"/"no go" decision prior to the opening of the HST observing window, and will also be used in the analysis of the resulting data.
