Observing HMXBs in Support of Radial Velocity Observations
Abstract:
This campaign supports ongoing radial velocity observations of four High Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs) using the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory (DAO) 1.85-m Plaskett telescope in Victoria, B.C., Canada. The objective is to determine the orbital periods of the HMXBs and reveal other periods and variations due to mass transfer, pulsations and other effects.
Justification:
Optical photometry will complement spectroscopic data to better interpret the radial velocities, orbital periods, and other variations of the HMXBs.
