Nova Mus 2008 = QY Mus

Abstract:

A nova was discovered in Musca by W. Liller on September 28, 2008, with a discovery magnitude of 8.6. The object was designated QY MUS and confirmed through low-resolution spectra indicating broad H-alpha lines. Subsequent photometry was provided by several observers.

Justification:

The nova classification was confirmed using low-resolution spectra that indicated broad H-alpha lines. Photometry and positional data were also provided by multiple observers.
