Monitoring of V2487 Oph requested

Active Dates: Oct. 4, 2016 – Oct. 4, 2016

Abstract:

Dr. Ashley Pagnotta (Louisiana State University) has requested AAVSO assistance in monitoring the recurrent nova V2487 Oph in order to catch and observe its next outburst.

Justification:

V2487 Oph is a recurrent nova with eruptions approximately every 18-20 years. Since it has been 18 years since the last eruption in 1998, regular AAVSO observations are requested to detect the next eruption.
