Abstract:
An optical dip was reported on May 18, 2017, in KIC 8462852 (Boyajian's Star). Photometry and spectroscopy confirmed the dip, showing a drop of 0.02 magnitude in Cousins V photometry. Intensive multi-color monitoring is requested from AAVSO observers.
Justification:
KIC 8462852 was observed undergoing a rare optical dip event, prompting intensive photometric and spectroscopic monitoring to understand the phenomenon.
